The shape and form is described more through the use of color, as well as some appropriately placed highlights and little splashes of wet paint, than the use of line drawing.

splashes是什么意思，弹着点？干什么的？帮忙翻译一下这段话。

我的英文也不行,我想应该大意是:所描述物体形态可以通过多使用一些颜色,以及用其适当的表现出物体表面的高光和线描淡彩的方式
